“Bowhall” is a spectacularly colourful variety of Maple with great form. This deciduous tree features dark green leaves through spring and summer which then turn wonderful shades of orange, red, and yellow as autumn progresses. It grows with an upright, almost columnar habit to eventually reach 15 m tall and 6 m wide. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site, though it will grow on a range of soil types, barring the extremes of wet and dry. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, coastal environments, and moderate wind, but we do recommend some protection while it is establishing to ensure a better structured tree. “Bowhall” makes for a magnificent specimen and is ideal for avenue plantings, parks, and large gardens.
