Acer carpinifolium, commonly known as the Hornbeam Maple, is a tree grown for its rich and colourful foliage. The leaves on this deciduous tree resemble the leaves of hornbeam and not Maple-like at all. They are bright green and develop brown-gold tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows with a bushy, multi-trunked habit to 8 m tall and the same wide. Acer carpinifolium is suitable for parks, home gardens, and as a specimen tree. It is also great for screening purposes.

Acer carpinifolium, commonly known as the Hornbeam Maple, is a tree grown for its rich and colourful foliage. The leaves on this deciduous tree resemble the leaves of hornbeam and not Maple-like at all. They are bright green and develop brown-gold tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows with a bushy, multi-trunked habit to 8 m tall and the same wide, performing best in full sun on a well-drained site. Trees will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer carpinifolium is suitable for parks, home gardens, and as a specimen tree.
