Acer davidii, commonly known as the Snakebark Maple, features leaves that are borne a fresh green colour in spring, age to become dark green, then turn shades of pink and yellow in autumn before falling. The bark has silver-grey stripes on an olive background. It grows with an open, rounded habit with a crown of arching branches to eventually reach 15 m tall and 10 m wide. Acer davidii is commonly grown as a specimen in parks and large gardens.

Acer davidii, commonly known as the Snakebark Maple, is a deciduous tree that features rich foliage and bark that has an appearance akin to snake skin. The leaves are borne a fresh green colour in spring, age to become dark green, then turn shades of pink and yellow in autumn before falling. The bark has silver-grey stripes on an olive background. It grows with an open, rounded habit with a crown of arching branches to eventually reach 15 m tall and 10 m wide. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer davidii is commonly grown as a specimen in parks and large gardens.
