The lush leaves on this deciduous tree emerge pink in spring, age to become variegated green and white, then turn orange-yellow in autumn before falling. It grows with an upright and rounded habit to eventually reach about 10 m tall and 8 m wide, but can be contained with trimming. Best results with this Maple are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and a range of soil types, barring extreme wet and dry.
