“Orangeola” is an impressive, small, Japanese Maple featuring a rich display of interestingly colourful, weeping foliage. The finely cut leaves emerge bright orange-red in spring and retain an orange undertone as they fade to green-purple through summer. As autumn progresses the leaves develop fiery, orange-red tones before falling. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. “Orangeola” makes for a lovely specimen and is well suited to including in a mixed planting, maintaining in a container, planting around outdoor living areas, or using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
