Acer palmatum Beni Kawa is a variety of Japanese Maple grown for its rich display of colourful foliage and bark. Leaves on this small, deciduous tree emerge a rich green in spring, age to a slightly darker green, then turn brilliant shades of yellow and orange in autumn before falling. New branches have salmon-red coloured bark which adds extra interest to this plant when the leaves have fallen. Trees will typically grow to 5 m tall and 3 m wide. Acer palmatum Beni Kawa is a magnificent specimen that is ideal for mixed plantings, avenues, using as a specimen in a smaller garden, or planting anywhere the spectacular autumn colours can be enjoyed.
