Acer palmatum Chitoseyama is a variety of Japanese Maple grown for its rich display of delicate foliage. Leaves on this medium sized, deciduous tree emerge purple-red in spring then age to bronze-green in summer. As autumn progresses the leaves develop impressive bright red tones before falling. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Acer palmatum Chitoseyama will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. This lovely specimen is ideal for mixed plantings, planting against a stark wall, or for growing anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
