Dissectum atropurpureum Japanese Maple, Purple Acer Tree, dissectum atropurpureum
Acer palmatum dissectum Atropurpureum is a popular variety of Japanese Maple due to its form, foliage, and wondrous display of colourful foliage. This attractive, small tree bears feathery, purple foliage in spring which ages to become darker during summer. As autumn progresses the leaves develop shade of red and orange before falling. The foliage is held on branches that gracefully arch downwards and it typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 3 m wide. Acer Atropurpureum is a magnificent specimen tree that is ideal for adding to a mixed planting, growing in courtyards, planting around outdoor living areas, or using anywhere the beauty of this plant can be appreciated.
