Acer palmatum Pixie is a smaller version of the popular Acer Bloodgood and features a rich display of delicate foliage. Leaves on this deciduous tree emerge pink in spring, age to purple-red in summer, then turns scarlet red as autumn progresses before falling. This Japanese Maple typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.8 m wide with a vase-shape. Acer palmatum Pixie makes for a fantastic specimen tree and is also ideal for mixed plantings, planting to soften a bland wall, planting around outdoor living areas, or for growing anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.

Acer palmatum Pixie Details

Acer palmatum Pixie is a smaller version of the popular Acer Bloodgood and features a rich display of delicate foliage. Leaves on this deciduous tree emerge pink in spring, age to purple-red in summer, then turns scarlet red as autumn progresses before falling. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.8 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. Acer palmatum Pixie will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. This lovely specimen is ideal for mixed plantings, planting to soften a bland wall, planting around outdoor living areas, or for growing anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
