Acer palmatum dissectum Raraflora is an impressive and small, Japanese maple featuring a rich display of interestingly coloured, gently weeping foliage. The finely cut leaves emerge cherry red, mature to become green and light purple, then turn orange-yellow before falling. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry.
