“Shidava Gold” is an impressive and small Japanese maple featuring a rich display of colourful foliage. New growth in spring emerges lime green, ages to yellow, then develops deeper, golden yellow tones in autumn before falling. Trees will typically grow to 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. This variety is tolerant of cool climates, frost, short periods of dry, and will grow on a range of soil types, barring the extremes of wet and dry. “Shidava Gold” is a magnificent specimen and ideal for including in mixed plantings, planting to soften a bland wall, using to border an entrance or driveway, or for using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
