Acer Winter Flame is an impressive variety of the commonly known, Coral Bark Maple, and is grown for its rich display of interestingly coloured foliage and bark. New leaves emerge lime green in spring, age to mid-green in summer, then turn various shades of golden, orange, and red in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Acer Winter Flame is ideal for mixed plantings, planting against a bland wall, container growing, or for using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.

Acer Winter Flame Details

Acer Winter Flame is an impressive variety of the commonly known, Coral Bark Maple, and is grown for its rich display of interestingly coloured foliage and bark. New leaves emerge lime green in spring, age to mid-green in summer, then turn various shades of golden, orange, and red in autumn before falling. As the leaves drop the red coloured bark on the branches becomes more prominent, adding extra interest to this tree. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer Winter Flame is ideal for mixed plantings, planting against a bland wall, container growing, or for using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
