The foliage comprises large, dark green leaves which changes to yellow in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 12 m tall and 8 m wide, performing best when positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of cool climates, frost, and only short periods of dry. “Baumannii” is commonly used a shade tree, included in avenue or park plantings, or grown as a specimen in a large garden.
