Aesculus indica, Indian Horse Chestnut
Aesculus indica, commonly known as the Indian Horse Chestnut, is a lovely spreading tree. It produces large sprays of white flowers which are spotted with yellow and flushed with pink through summer. The foliage comprises large and glossy, dark green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling as it grows to reach 12 m tall and 8 m wide. Aesculus indica is commonly grown as a shade tree, used in avenue and park plantings, grown as a specimen, or incorporated into a mixed planting in a large garden.
