It typically grows to 25 m tall with a spread of 8 m but can be trimmed as necessary. This hardy plant grows best on a well-drained site in full sun though it will grow in almost any soil conditions except extreme wet. It is also tolerant of frost, cool climates, and moderate wind. Alnus cremastogyne is commonly trimmed into a hedge, used for screening and shelter, or grown as a specimen tree.
