Bambusa oldhamii Details

Bambusa oldhamii is one of the larger bamboos and commonly known as the Giant Timber Bamboo or Oldhams bamboo. It can grow up to 20 m tall with stems having a diameter of 10 cm. It grows as a clump and produces multiple stems which bear mid-green, dense foliage. This bamboo grows best in full sun on a well-drained site though it will tolerate a range of soil conditions barring extreme wet or dry. Bambusa oldhamii is commonly grown as a specimen but is also very effective for providing privacy screening, hedging, and is perfect for a large, tropical garden. It is a non-invasive species of Bamboo.
