Betula albosinensis, Chinese Red Birch, Chinese Red Birch Tree, Betula utilis albosinensis
Betula albosinensis, commonly known as Chinese Red Birch, is popular due to its lush foliage, attractive form, and great autumn colours. It grows with an upright habit and boasts impressive, dark green leaves held off rigid branches. New leaves emerge a light green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop colourful yellow tones in autumn before falling. The bark is predominantly white and provides character to this tree, particularly during winter as it reaches 25 m tall and 8 m wide. Betula albosinensis makes for a lovely specimen and is great for parks and large gardens, using in an avenue planting, or growing to make a bold statement at an entrance.
