Betula ermanii, Erman's Birch, Erman's Birch Tree, Ermans Birch, Gold Birch, Gold Birch Tree
Betula ermanii, commonly known as Erman’s Birch, features fantastic autumn colours and a tidy form. This medium sized tree grows with an upright habit and carries a rounded crown of bright green leaves. As autumn progresses the leaves develop golden-yellow tonnes before falling. As the leaves fall, the peeling, fawn coloured bark on the trunks becomes more obvious as it reaches 20 m tall and 10 m wide. Betula ermanii is well suited to parks and large gardens where it is often planted in clusters or as a specimen. It is also commonly used for screening and shelter where space affords.
