Betula Jermyns is a popular variety of Birch due to its white bark and striking form. It grows with an upright habit and carries a dense crown of dark green leaves. The foliage contrasts nicely with the white stems. Through autumn the leaves develop impressive golden tones before falling. Yellow catkins (small cones) are borne amidst the branches in spring and will often remain on the tree long after the leaves have fallen. It typically reaches 8 m tall and 5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, cool climates, and frost.
