Betula maximowicziana, Monarch Birch
Betula maximowicziana, commonly known as the Monarch Birch, is grown for its lush foliage and impressive autumn colours. The dark green foliage is held densely and as autumn progress the leaves develop impressive golden tones before falling as it grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide. Betula maximowicziana is well suited to large parks and gardens where it is often planted in clusters but is also suited for screening and shelter purposes.
