Callistemon viminalis, commonly known as the Weeping Bottlebrush or Creek Bottlebrush, is a small tree favoured for its bright red, bottlebrush-like flowers in spring and summer. The foliage is mid-green and held in a pendulous manner. Callistemon viminalis typically reaches 8 m tall and 4 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, though it will tolerate a wide variety of climatic conditions including moderate frost, dry periods, coastal environments, and most soil types, barring the extremes of wet and dry. This Weeping Bottlebrush is an easy to grow and relatively low maintenance plant that is commonly grown as a small specimen, planted as a backdrop for smaller plants, planted to provide shelter and screening, or used in an avenue planting.
