The Cercis Oklahoma Redbud, commonly known as Eastern Redbud, is a small tree grown for its impressive foliage and flowers. Clusters of purple blossoms literally coat the tree in spring before the foliage emerges. The foliage comprises heart shaped leaves which are mid-green in colour and develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a broad and rounded canopy to about 4.5 m tall and 6 m wide. Cercis Oklahoma is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenues, planted to border an entrance, or included in a mixed planting.
