Cordyline banksii is a small growing, NZ native Cabbage Tree. It produces several stems that will reach up to 3 m high bearing long and arching, green leaves. Masses of small and fragrant, white flowers are borne in late spring and are followed by purple berries which are great for attracting birds. This Cabbage Tree makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters in a mixed planting or included in a native garden.

Cordyline banksii Details

Cordyline banksii is a small growing, NZ native Cabbage Tree. It produces several stems that will reach up to 3 m high bearing long and arching, green leaves. Masses of small and fragrant, white flowers are borne in late spring and are followed by purple berries which are great for attracting birds. It grows best in partial shade conditions but will also grow well in heavier shade and full sun conditions. It does require a well-drained site and will not tolerate prolonged periods of wet. This Cabbage Tree makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters in a mixed planting or included in a native garden. The simple form of this plant allows it to blend with almost any planting.
