The foliage comprises lush leaves that are variegated cream and green. The leaves develop colourful shades of red and purple in autumn before falling. It typically grows with a rounded shape to 3 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and periods of dry once established.
