Cornus kousa is grown for its impressive flowering and attractive form. Large and showy, white flowers adorn the tree in spring and are followed by red berries in autumn. It grows with a narrow, upright, multi-trunked habit carrying dark green leaves. As autumn progresses the leaves develop shades of red before falling. It typically grows to 5 m tall and the same wide. Cornus kousa makes for an excellent specimen tree and is great for including in mixed plantings, for lining an entranceway, or planting in a courtyard.

Cornus kousa is grown for its impressive flowering and attractive form. Large and showy, white flowers adorn the tree in spring and are followed by red berries in autumn which are great for attracting birds. It grows with a narrow, upright, multi-trunked habit carrying dark green leaves. As autumn progresses the leaves develop shades of red before falling. It typically grows to 5 m tall and the same wide, performing best in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Cornus kousa makes for an excellent specimen tree and is great for including in mixed plantings, for lining an entranceway, or planting in a courtyard.
