Corymbia citriodora, commonly known as the Lemon-Scented Gum tree, is one of the more popular Eucalypts. It is an attractive, fast-growing tree that features bountiful clusters of white flowers sporadically throughout the year. It has green-yellow foliage that releases a lemon-scent when crushed and is used to make citronella oil. It grows with a spreading habit and can reach 25 m tall and 12 m wide. It grows best in full sun on a well-drained site and can tolerate wind, extended dry periods, frost, and coastal environments. Corymbia citriodora is well suited to parks, large gardens, and is commonly used for shelter on drier soils.
