Cupressus leylandii, commonly known as the Leyland Cypress plant, is large conifer that features blue-grey-green foliage held in broad sprays. This fast-growing evergreen grows with a pyramidal shape to reach upwards of 20 m tall and 5 m wide. Leyland Cypress will stand windy conditions and coastal environments but grows best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. Cupressus Leyland is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting in a large garden, or used for shelter or screening.
