Argyle Apple, Mealy Stringbark, Silver-Leaf Stringybark, Silver-Leaf Stringybark
Eucalyptus cinerea is a medium sized tree with grey-blue foliage. Juvenile foliage consists of rounded, silver-blue-green leaves resembling large coins, hence the common name of Silver Dollar Tree. The foliage is complemented with white flowers through summer. It typically grows to 18 m tall and 7 m wide, though can be trimmed as necessary which will stimulate new shoots. This tree grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of wind, coastal conditions, and cool climates but should be protected from frost. This tree is commonly used for hedging, grown as a specimen tree, or planted in parks and large gardens. The foliage is often used in floral arrangements.
