Silver Gum, Buxton Gum
Commonly known as the Silver Gum, this is a medium-sized, hardy tree that features pretty flowers and interesting foliage. The white flowers are produced in autumn amidst the loosely held leaves. The leaves themselves are heart-shaped and have a serrated edge, and often used in floral arrangements. It typically grows to 12 m tall and about 8 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, extended dry periods, and moderate wind. This variety is commonly grown as a specimen, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown as a shade tree, or used on lifestyle blocks for shelter and screening.
