Eucalyptus sideroxylon is a medium-sized, hardy tree that features pretty flowers and blue-green foliage. The pink flowers are produced from autumn through until spring amidst the loosely held foliage. It grows with an open crown to about 15 m tall and about 8 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, extended dry periods, and moderate wind. This is a popular street tree and is also commonly grown as a specimen, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown as a shade tree, or used on lifestyle blocks for shelter and screening. The wood is relatively hard and dense, and is often used for firewood and furniture.
