Syzygium aromaticum, Clove Tree , Tropical Myrtle
Eugenia caryophyllata (aka Syzygium aromaticum), commonly known as Clove Tree or Tropical Myrtle, is used to produce the commonly known spice, clove. It is a small, evergreen tree with lush foliage and clusters of crimson-coloured flowers. It typically grows to 8 m tall and 3.5 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Eugenia caryophyllata is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or planted specifically to harvest the flowers for producing cloves.
Clove is currently unavailable, but we do have other other amazing species and varieties of Eugenia (Lilly Pillys) available.
