Fraxinus angustifolia, commonly known as the Narrow Leaf Ash, is a large and stately, deciduous tree that grows to about 20 m tall and 8 m wide. This broad tree carries narrow, dark green leaves which are held densely. These develop impressive purple tones in autumn before falling. Fraxinus angustifolia is commonly grown as a specimen tree, used in avenue plantings, or included in a mixed planting in a large garden.
