“Raywoodii” is an impressive variety of the commonly known, Claret Ash, featuring great form and brilliant autumn colours. The leaves emerge a fresh green in spring, darken during summer, then develop impressive shades of purple, red, and orange in autumn before falling. This fast growing tree grows with an open and rounded canopy to about 12 m tall and 7 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It tolerates dry periods, frost, cool climates, coastal conditions, and moderate wind. “Raywoodii” makes for a lovely specimen and provides great shade. It is also commonly used in avenue plantings. This is a lovely and popular tree that will not disappoint.
