“Jade Butterflies” is a smaller variety of Ginkgo and grown for its showy and colourful foliage. This deciduous tree has distinctive, fan-shaped, rich green leaves. The leaves turn bright yellow in autumn before falling and form a golden carpet around the tree as they fall. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide with an upright and rounded growth habit. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and urban pollution. “Jade Butterflies” is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a courtyard garden.
