Fried Egg Plant, Gordonia Red Tips
Gordonia Red Tips, commonly known as the Fried Egg plant, is a small, evergreen tree renowned for both its attractive foliage and adorable flowers. The foliage comprises glossy, green leaves which develop red tones in the cooler months. Large and showy, white flowers coat the plant from autumn through spring, with the flowers often described as resembling fried eggs. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Gordonia Red Tips makes a lovely specimen and is ideal for avenue planting, including in large cottage gardens, adding to a mixed planting, or trimming into a hedge.
