Grevillea robusta, commonly known as the Southern Silky Oak, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree that produces fern like, dark green foliage and attractive flowers. The showy, yellow-orange, bottlebrush-like flowers are produced from spring through summer. Silky Oak typically grows to 15 m tall and 6 m wide with a pyramidal shape, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of extended dry periods, coastal conditions, and moderate frost. Grevillea robusta is commonly grown as a specimen in parks or large garden, used in avenue plantings, added to a large coastal garden, or planted to attract birds.
