Griselinia Green Jewel, commonly known as Kapuka or NZ Broadleaf, is a fast-growing, NZ native tree that carries variegated, glossy leaves. The leaves are dark green with a cream margin. It grows as a round-headed multi-branched tree with a gnarled trunk to about 10 m tall and 5 m wide. Small, green flowers in spring are followed by green to black fruits which are great for attracting birds. Griselinia Green Jewel is both wind and coastal tolerant and grows best in either full or partial shade but does require good drainage.
