Hibiscus tiliaceus rubra, commonly known as the Cottonwood Hibiscus, is grown for its lush foliage and showy flowers. This small tree produces dark green leaves with a red overtone. The tree is adorned with light yellow flowers in spring as it grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide. The Cottonwood Hibiscus is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas. It also looks amazing when used to line an avenue or border an entrance.
