“Alba Variegata” is a quick growing, small tree that features leaves that are variegated dark green with a cream edge. The colourful leaves are held densely off slender branches. The tree becomes smothered in small, white-light blue flowers during summer. This evergreen typically grows to 5 m tall and 2.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate dry periods, coastal environments, heavy soils, moderate frost, and some wind, though young trees should be protected while they are establishing. “Alba Variegata” is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted as a quick growing shelter tree, used for screening, or grown as a specimen. It also suits being used in revegetation and riparian plantings.
