Commonly known as Lacebark, this is a compact and handsome NZ native tree. It carries narrow, toothed leaves which become shrouded in masses of small white flowers in summer. The juvenile form is columnar with tangled branches but as it matures the branches broaden to give a more open structure. This evergreen tree typically grows to 6 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate dry and semi-wet soil conditions as well as coastal environments, frost, and cool climates. This Lacebark is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in revegetation programs, planted as a quick growing shelter tree, included in riparian plantings, or grown as a specimen.
