Liquidambar formosana, commonly known as the Chinese Sweet Gum or Formosan Sweetgum, is grown for its form and fantastic autumn colours. It features lush, green foliage that develops impressive shades of yellow and orange in autumn before falling. The autumn display is magnificent. It grows quickly with a pyramidal shape to 20 m tall and 8 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cold climates, and short periods of dry. This Chinese Sweet Gum makes a fantastic specimen in a park or large garden.
