Liriodendron tulipifera, commonly known as the American Tulip Tree or Liriodendron tree, is a large and stately tree favoured for its flowers and foliage. The yellow flowers in summer are tulip-like in size, shape, and appearance. They are complemented with large and glossy, green leaves which turn a rich shade of yellow in autumn before falling as it grows to 25 m tall and 15 m wide. Liriodendron tulipifera makes for a lovely specimen or shade tree in a larger garden or park.
