Liriodendron tulipifera Snowbird, commonly known as the Tulip Poplar tree, is a stately, deciduous tree favoured for its form and foliage. The leaves are variegated cream and dark green and held somewhat densely on upright branches. As autumn progresses, they take on yellow tones before falling. It grows compactly with a conical shape to about 8 m tall and 4 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is hardy to frost, cool climates, and moderate wind but should be protected while establishing which also helps produce a better formed tree.
