Magnolia grandiflora Little Gem

Magnolia grandiflora Little Gem, commonly known as the Southern Magnolia or Evergreen Magnolia, is a popular variety due to its impressive flowering, form, and glossy foliage. Large and fragrant, white flowers are produced through spring and summer amidst the lush, dark green foliage. This evergreen grows compactly with a pyramidal shape to about 6 m tall and 4 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, though it is tolerant of dry periods, moderate frost, and cool climates. Magnolia grandiflora Little Gem is commonly added to a mixed planting, grown as a specimen, or used a stunning backdrop for smaller plants. It is a very rewarding tree that is aesthetically pleasing year-round.

Little Gem Magnolia Hedge

A Little Gem Magnolia Hedge makes for an exquisite statement in a landscape. A dense hedge can be created by spacing the plants 60-80 cm apart. If a less formal look is desired with minimal trimming, space the trees 2-3 m apart, depending on how you much you want them to merge.
