“Jane Platt” is a very popular variety due to its exquisite flowers and tidy form. Pink flower buds open in spring to reveal large and showy, double, pink flowers. The fragrant blooms appear just before the lush, green leaves emerge. The leaves age to become dark green then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a conical shape to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. “Jane Platt” is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included in a cottage garden. The beauty of this tree will please no matter where it is planted.
