Magnolia Purple Sensation Details

Magnolia Purple Sensation is a deciduous tree grown for its spectacular and fragrant flowers. It bears masses of large and showy, semi-double, pink-purple flowers in late winter on the naked stems, before the foliage emerges. The lush, dark green foliage emerges soon after, remains this colour until autumn, then develops yellow tones before falling. It typically grows to 6 m tall and 5 m wide, and can be contained with trimming. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Purple Sensation is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting in a larger garden, included in cottage gardens, or used in avenue plantings. The beauty of this tree will please no matter where it is planted.
