Magnolia grandifolia St Mary is a popular of the Southern Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) due to its high flowering performance and attractive foliage. From late spring through summer flower buds open to reveal large and fragrant, cream-white flowers. The blooms appear amidst the large and glossy, dark green leaves and together provide an outstanding display. This evergreen grows with a pyramidal shape to about 10 m tall and 8 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of moderate frost and cool climates.
