Magnolia King Rose Details

Magnolia stellata King Rose is a smaller variety that is grown for its spectacular flowering. Through late winter and early spring, it bears masses of large and showy, semi-double, white flowers which emerge from pink buds. The fragrant blooms are borne on the naked stems before the foliage emerges. The lush foliage emerges dark green in spring, remains this colour until autumn, then develops yellow tones before falling. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and the same wide, and can be contained and shaped with trimming. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia King Rose is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting in a larger garden, included in cottage gardens, or used to border an entrance or driveway. The beauty of this tree will please no matter where it is planted.
