Magnolia stellata Waterlily, commonly known as Star Magnolia, features spectacular flowering and compact growth. It bears masses of mildly fragrant, white, lily-like flowers in late winter and early spring, just before the foliage emerges. The dark green foliage adds a lovey appeal to this plant which age to yellow in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 2.5 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. This Magnolia grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates.
