Columnar Crabapple Tree
Ballerina Samba grows with a tight, columnar growth habit and reaches just 40 cm wide and is maintained at any height between 1 and 4 m tall. It features large and frilly, double, dark pink flowers which result in orange fruit with a red blush in autumn. The foliage in spring emerges a fresh green, ages to a darker green, and then develops yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. Ballerina Samba is commonly grown against wall and fences, used to line a path, planted as a backdrop to smaller plants, included in a mixed planting, or maintained in a container.
